Prepare for the changing seasons with our very first three day autumn wellness retreat from Friday 4th to Monday 7th October 2019. Set in the tranquil surroundings of our Cotswolds farm, we have curated this bespoke experience to nurture, nourish and restore you from the inside out.

With tips and guidance from our in-house team of experts, including our resident yoga teacher, nutritionist and cookery school tutors, you’ll learn how to prepare for a smooth transition from the busyness of summer to the slower pace of autumn, strengthening your body and mind as the cooler weather approaches.

Traditionally thought of as the most active season, summer, with its longer daylight hours and warmer weather, can have us running on full capacity as our schedules become busy with endless opportunities to be doing something. However, as the seasons change and temperatures cool, we don’t always take the time to reduce our pace, ignoring nature as it slows down, preparing for hibernation in the winter.

With that in mind, our three day wellness retreat is designed to encourage you to press pause, reflecting on the summer season that has just passed, taking a mindful look inwards and restoring your wellbeing in the beautiful setting of our Cotswolds farm. In collaboration with Bamford Haybarn Spa, you’ll enjoy a series of wellness and healing workshops as well as a bespoke facial and de-stress massage, helping you get into a relaxed frame of mind.

Then, as the weekend rolls on you’ll enjoy nourishing organic food throughout, including an experience at our restaurant The Trough as well as an intimate supper at our sister inn, The Wild Rabbit, just two miles away from our farm. Learning about the journey of our organic produce from field to fork, you’ll also gather your own seasonal vegetables from our organic 28 acre Market Garden before heading to The Cookery School for a class on how to rustle up a delicious meal that’s bursting with autumnal flavour and nourishment. 

At Daylesford, we work in tandem with nature and farm only according to nature’s rhythms as we feel this is beneficial for our planet and our wellbeing – with sustainability as a top priority too. Our cookery tutors will be on hand to introduce you to the best of autumn’s seasonal produce; delicious wet walnuts, wild mushrooms, potatoes and figs grown on our farm, and you’ll leave armed with replenishing recipe suggestions to see you through the cooler months. Our resident nutritionist and wellness expert Rhaya Jordan will also show you the wonderful world of ferments and their benefits – from making the most of surplus veggies to packing a probiotic punch. 

With a focus on the interconnectedness of mind, body and spirit through how we eat, think and function, we hope to take you on a journey of discovery in this special three day experience. During breaks and at the end of each day, you’ll get to retreat back to our Daylesford Cottages, a haven in the heart of our farm, kitted out with cosy essentials such as cashmere blankets, log fires and botanical bath products – the ideal place to unwind and take time to reflect. Or if an outdoor walk appeals to you, nature is on your doorstep so you can explore the sights and sounds of our farm and the wildlife living there.
