the Cookery school
Our Cookery School is at the heart of our Cotswolds farm and ties together our organically grown produce with key cookery skills and techniques. We are proud that our fresh produce travels less than a few hundred metres before being prepared, cooked and poured over by budding chefs and our dedicated Cookery School team.
Cookery is a brilliant mindful activity, encouraging us to step out of thinking mode into doing mode, and is the perfect antidote for the cold winter weather. Our classes are designed to have a particular focus on using seasonal, nutritious food, with a sustainable and zero waste approach, and options include meat preparation, vegetarian dinners and cooking for wellbeing. Our cookery classes are also a popular choice for hen or stag parties.
♥ Eat to be healthy: Learn how to create nourishing, wholesome dishes using organic ingredients that are great for your body.
♥ Show-stopping canapés: Prepare delicious bites that can easily be recreated at home to kick off a dinner party or be the main event.
♥ Winter comfort food: Create hearty, healthy comfort food using fresh seasonal produce and turn away from tempting processed food.
‘It is wonderful to see our cookery guests leaving with big smiles on their faces, fully equipped to wow their friends and families with newly acquired skills.’ – Sophie Jones, New Business Development & Office Manager at The Cookery School
A floristry course at Daylesford is a great way to immerse yourself in a mindful activity which boosts concentration and mood. Our farm’s award-winning Cutting Garden is worked on all year round by our dedicated floristry team who cultivate it through the change in seasons.
Our sustainable approach to floristry means reusing wire frames from previous displays and using natural, plastic-free materials, and we love welcoming guests to our farm’s Garden Workshop for some inspirational creativity. Many of our courses will involve collecting plant materials (weather dependent) as guests are introduced to seasonal foliage and key floristry skills.
♥ Seasonal wreath making: Guests will be introduced to a selection of seasonal foliage before creating their own masterpiece.
♥ beginners’ floristry course: Create a hand-tied bouquet with seasonal blooms, developing an understanding of how tints, tones and shades interact.
♥ Sustainable floristry arrangements: Learn about growing flowers sustainably and preparing blooms in a way that doesn’t harm our planet.
‘The convivial nature of joining a small group of like-minded others is a real tonic during the short and dark winter days. Plus, the pleasure gained from creating your own floral masterpiece cannot be underestimated.’ – Lesley Young, Lead Floristry Tutor
