At this time of year, everywhere you look on the farm there is new life. From lovely lambs and cute calves nuzzling their mothers, to green shoots and cheerful buds pushing bravely up towards sunlight, this is the season of vitality and rejuvenation. It is remarkable to think that just a few weeks ago, the soil was cold and unyielding.

Those dark winter days are now a distant memory as our lambing season is in full swing. We are looking forward to our Lambing Tours on Saturday 8th April. Our Senior Farms Manager and resident shepherds will be on hand to talk about this special time of year as they guide visitors through the lambing barns. The tours are free and there are four in total, at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm and 1:30pm. They are always popular so we advise you arrive early – and bring your camera!

If the new season has inspired a spurt of creativity, you may also like to attend our Foraged Easter wreath making workshop on Wednesday 12th April at our new Daylesford Garden shop with our talented Head Florist Tina.

On Easter Sunday itself, we have Children’s Easter bonnet and floral crown making at the Daylesford Garden shop, Family Cooking Together at Easter at the Cookery School and an Easter egg hunt in the Market Garden.

Spring Lamb Shoulder 2

Slow-cooked lamb shoulder with hasselback potatoes and herbed jus – a recipe from our spring e-Book.

If you are not able to join us at the farm, you can still embrace the joys of spring with us from home by downloading our free A Celebration of Spring e-Book. This e-Book contains five delicious, failsafe recipes your friends and family will love including a show-stopping slow-cooked lamb shoulder dish and a hot cross cinnamon loaf made for sharing.

This year, we have gone all out with our Easter food and drink. Our Daylesford large chocolate eggs would make a special gift for a loved one – will you choose a milk chocolate egg filled with salted caramel hearts, or with dark chocolate honeycomb chunks, or indeed a dark chocolate egg flavoured with Earl Grey?

Our skilled artisans in the Daylesford Bakery and Patisserie at our Cotswolds farm have been busy whipping up all sorts of traditional and innovative treats for Easter. Pick up a classic Simnel cake and handmade hot cross buns in any of our farmshops, and browse our online shop for tempting fruit jellies, marshmallows, meringues and more. The last order date for Easter UK delivery is Wednesday 12th April.

Wishing you the very best for a bright and happy spring.
