Ideal for anyone with an interest in floristry, our morning beginners’ workshop will introduce guests to seasonal blooms and foliage from our organic Cutting Garden while covering essential skills and methods of flower arranging.

All workshops begin with a guided tour of our Cutting Garden, in the heart of our 28 acre Market Garden. Here we plant, cultivate and harvest seasonal British blooms, and unlike non-organic growers who use pesticides and chemicals, the flowers used in our workshops will only be those available at that time of year. In autumn, this could include amaranthus, scabiosa and poppy pods, grasses and strawberry leaves.

With a focus on the interplay of colours, textures and movement, our growers and florists will guide you through choosing a beautiful selection of blooms, foliage and fillers and will share their tips for making a hand-tied bouquet, from cutting through to arranging. You’ll then try your hand at styling and gift wrapping your bouquet which will of course be yours to take home.

The workshop will finish off with a delicious lunch in our award-winning organic Trough restaurant after which you will have the chance to explore our Home and Garden Shop.

As there will be some time spent outside, please bring suitable shoes and clothing, weather dependent.
