Engage in the mindful practice of making something beautiful with your hands in this unique bookbinding workshop at our Cotswolds farm.
Award-winning bookbinder Kate Holland will lead the workshop, guiding you step-by-step in this traditional craft to help you master a solid foundation of bookbinding knowledge. You will come away from the workshop armed with key techniques and skills that you can build on, as well as your very own hardback book that you have made from scratch.
Suitable for all levels, all materials and tools will be provided.
Kate specialises in contemporary fine bindings to commission or for exhibition. Working from a converted cowshed on the outskirts of Frome, she uses traditional materials and techniques to produce a unique, modern binding that reflects the text, illustrations and typeface of the book. She is a Fellow of Designer Bookbinders, one of the foremost societies dedicated to the craft of fine bookbinding. She has books in university libraries as well as many public and private collections around the world and is a binder to the Booker prize.
