We are already counting down the days to our favourite event of the year, our Summer Festival. This year, for the first time, our festival has a theme: The Summer of Love – 1967.
We are inviting guests to wear flowers in your hair, come in 1960s fancy dress and celebrate the arrival of summer – slowing down and taking time to appreciate all that we have with friends and family in the surroundings of our beautiful Cotswolds Farm.
Here is a taster of what to expect on the day – much-loved Daylesford classics all with a touch of 1960s carefree happiness, colour and fun. Join us to celebrate peace, freedom, love, unity and of course, nature.
DATE: Saturday 8th June 2019
LOCATION: Daylesford near Kingham, Gloucestershire, GL56 0YG
Free to attend, parking is £5 per vehicle on the day (mini buses and coaches by special arrangement). If you are planning to attend, please do register below to give us an idea of numbers and help us prepare.
Food & Drink
A love for sharing seasonal, organic food and produce is always at the heart of our Summer Festival. From delicious Daylesford breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea in our Farmshop, The Trough, The Old Spot & The Legbar, to tastes of the 1960s served from our own Airstream and Shepherd’s Huts, there will be organic feasts and treats to satisfy everyone.
In the Market Garden our Asado-style firepits will have been lit the previous night and barbecues will be going strong, showcasing outdoor cookery and alfresco eating. While the ‘Summer of Love Bar’ will be serving botanical summer cocktails and rosé from our sister estate, Chateau Léoube.
Our Producers Market will be returning for its second year, where our most loved artisan producers will be gathered with our favourite organic produce. From charcuterie to chutney, breads and cheese, this is the place to go to satisfy hungry tums, trying delicious samples from our Creamery, Bakery, Smokehouse and Market Garden, or to stock up on our award-winning organic products to take home.
As always there will be plenty of activities for youngsters throughout the festival – carousel and swing boat rides in our Market Garden, retro 1960s games, floral crown making, face painting and our ride-on mini JCBs. In the competition tent, children can enter our rainbow cake baking contest and of course, enter the family dog into Lily’s Kitchen Dog Show. Knickerbocker glories, wobbly jellies, ice creams of the era will be tempting treats to resist!
