How to make marbled plant pot workshop with Marmor Paperie: Pimlico
3rd September 2019
Learn how to decorate plant pots in beautiful patterns with Lucy McGrath, the founder of Marmor Paperie. In this two hour workshop at our Pimlico farmshop you’ll discover the traditional art of paper marbling and will modernise this old and beautiful technique of painting on water in a modern way, through bold shapes and contemporary colours.
Every marbled paper is different, so each pot created will be a unique piece. Lucy will demonstrate every step of the process, showing you how to combine colours and use styling tools to get a striking marbled effect. You’ll start practicing on smaller pots before decorating larger ones to take home.
About Marmor Paperie:
Marmor Paperie was launched in 2015 by Lucy McGrath. Initially studying illustration at the University of Brighton, Lucy fell in love with paper marbling whilst doing a workshop on holiday in Istanbul. Seeing shops saturated with mass-produced products, Lucy wanted to herald a return to quality workmanship, bringing back the joy of owning something truly special, and now produces unique marbled gifts and luxury stationery alongside hosting workshops.
