Introduction to paper marbling workshop with Marmor Paperie: Notting Hill
2nd October 2019
Learn the traditional Turkish art of paper marbling with Lucy McGrath, the founder of Marmor Paperie. In this two hour workshop at our Notting Hill farmshop, you’ll learn how to modernise the old and beautiful technique of painting on water through the use of bold, contemporary colours and graphic foiled accents.
Starting with a single colour, Lucy will demonstrate every step of the process and you’ll gradually build up techniques, using styling tools such as styluses and combs. You’ll discover that each marbled paper is unique and will finish the evening with ten of your own striking marbled papers to take home.
About Marmor Paperie:
Marmor Paperie was launched in 2015 by Lucy McGrath. Initially studying illustration at the University of Brighton, Lucy fell in love with paper marbling whilst doing a workshop on holiday in Istanbul. Seeing shops saturated with mass-produced products, Lucy wanted to herald a return to quality workmanship, bringing back the joy of owning something truly special, and now produces unique marbled gifts and luxury stationery alongside hosting workshops.
