Introduction to Watercolours Workshop: Brompton Cross
18th October 2019
Whether you are a total beginner or have some experience with watercolours, our Introduction to Watercolours Workshop is an enjoyable way to spend an evening and gain a new skill in watercolour painting.
Illustrator Emma Block will lead the workshop, helping you to gain skills and techniques to develop your own style and confidence. You will be given a complete set of materials which you can take away after class, including guide sheets, paper, brushes and a set of watercolours.
The workshop will start with colour theory, a colour mixing demonstration and exercises to familiarise you with the different effects that can be created with the paint. You will learn how to apply simple brush stroke techniques to create leaves, flowers, stems and floral motifs.
You will then work on a final piece, sketching and painting from life, with plenty of hands-on guidance and encouragement. By the end of the workshop you will be well on your way to developing your own unique watercolour style.
