Shell Design Workshop with Linda Fenwick: Cotswolds
15th June 2022
Join us at our flagship Farmshop in the Cotswolds for a shell decoration workshop hosted by Linda Fenwick, ‘shelling’ expert and contemporary design artist.
Linda will inspire you with a hands-on demonstration and examples of the extraordinary shell work that she has created around the globe.
You will discover the enormous creative diversity shells provide to produce endless patterns and motifs with varying colourways and textures. You will decorate an everyday Daylesford object with exquisite selected-by-hand shells, turning your object into a very special gift or keepsake.
The skills you learn will enable you to go on and experiment with shelling in the future. This course is both creative and meditative: sorting shells, creating patterns and decorating an object has many mindful qualities plus giving you a new skill to cherish.
Linda encourages you to bring shells you may have collected from your favourite beaches which she will help you to include giving your finished piece a further personal quality.
Linda has been decorating with shells since she was a child growing up in America. Creating her own shell house, many years later, in North Yorkshire, provoked a passion that has meant Linda ‘shells’ all over the world for private clients and designers.
Influenced by Georgian and Classical designs, weaving her own contemporary twist into each piece, Linda combines exotic shells to create intricate motifs creating one-of-a-kind pieces of art.
Linda is at the forefront of shell design; she is one of the UK’s most prominent, well regarded shell artists. Driven by passion, her designs are now a sought-after element to some of the world’s most beautiful homes, hotels and gardens.
