Our commitment to saving our most vital pollinators is still going strong. Bees are essential to life as we know it and protecting them is a key part of our wider sustainability pledges, as well as this year’s Summer Festival theme: Bee Happy! Do make sure to stop by our Sustainability Stand as you explore the site.

A love for food is central to everything we do at Daylesford and there will be plenty of seasonal flavours at the Summer Festival.

New for 2018 is our Daylesford Farmers’ Market. Head towards the large covered area as you enter to find all our artisan producers gathered in one place. The skilled artisans from our Creamery, Bakery and Black Barn will be doing demonstrations and offering samples, so it’s the ideal place to satisfy hunger on the day and stock up on some of our award-winning organic goodies to take home.

Freshly made hot and cold food, drinks and ice creams will be served throughout the festival. Make sure you visit the Market Garden to feast from our Airstream and Shepherd’s Huts as well as our Argentinian-style barbecue fire pits, which are truly a sight to behold.

You will also be able to enjoy delicious dishes for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea to eat in and take away from the Old Spot, the Trough and Glasshouse.

The Summer Festival is a chance to show off your own culinary skills, with hotly-contested competitions for best cakes, jams and more. Click here for details on categories and how to enter.

Our Market Garden and working farm areas are not usually open to the public but for the festival they will be abuzz with sheepdog demonstrations, traditional farming displays, falconry, bush craft with WildWise, fly-casting, crayfishing and more. Be sure to meet our heritage and rare breed farm animals and make time to witness some sheep-shearing!

New for 2018 is recreational tree climbing with fully qualified and experienced climbers. Using ropes, harnesses and safety equipment, you can scale the canopy of our mature trees and enjoy amazing views of the whole festival!

Our Head Gardener Jez and his team will be giving tours, gardening advice and practical demonstrations – not to mention his famous micro leaf tastings.

New for 2018 will be a wild feast down by the crayfishing river, hosted by our sister restaurant, The Wild Rabbit.

There will be lots of fun activities for young people all day, such as JCB mini ride-on tractors, a coconut shy, face painting, flower pressing, circus acts, scarecrow making and more

Meanwhile grown-ups can enjoy the Léoube bar and pampering with Bamford Haybarn Spa therapists – the ideal way to relax before browsing the Bamford Barn.

Daylesford founder Carole Bamford will be signing copies of her new book Nurture in the Chelsea Garden Room.

The vintage car showcase is not to be missed and if you are feeling creative, our Garden Workshop will be hosting floristry and craft sessions. Try your hand at pottery with Pop-up-Pots mobile pottery wheels – new for 2018.

Our Dairy Barn will play host to Artisan & Craft demonstrations, while the talented artist Amber Locke will be creating her astonishing edible fruit & vegetable masterpieces before our eyes.

Our Cookery School tutors, plus special guest chefs, will be hosting demonstrations all day long, with plenty of tasting opportunities.

The Heritage Orchard will be home to the Bamford Wellness Area, new for 2018.

Always a highlight is Lily’s Dog Show, where competition will be rife for the coveted titles of “Scruffiest Dog”, “Waggiest Tail”, “Dog most like its Owner” and of course various costume rounds.

To keep the festival spirit going, we will have a variety of live music, not to mention Morris dancers for maximum jollity!
