8th Apr: Spring Flower Arranging With Honeysuckle & Hilda
As winter draws to a close and signs of spring are appearing, join Claire of HONEYSUCKLE AND HILDA for a morning of spring flower arranging. We’ll fill our workshop with an abundance of locally grown blooms, many of them from Claire’s own garden. Working with hand-thrown bowls from a local pottery which will be yours to take home after the class, there will be softly coloured flowers, buttery yellow tulips, ranunculus, hellebores, fritillaries and other seasonal blossoms and foliage. There will also be an opportunity, weather permitting, to take in a tour of the Daylesford Cutting Garden, and to take a few snippings to add to this array of ingredients.
Once all of our materials have been gathered, Claire will guide you through the process of creating bountiful, asymmetric arrangements, with flowers spilling out of our bowls in all directions.
The first of this year’s instalments of Honeysuckle and Hilda’s seasonally inspired masterclasses, this workshop takes place just a few days before Easter and offers the perfect opportunity to create a masterpiece to take home and display for the holiday.
This class is suitable for all levels. Please bring suitable outdoor clothing and footwear for our visit to our organic Cutting Garden.
With a background in art history and environmental campaigning, Claire is a floral stylist based in South Oxfordshire. As well as creating flowers for events, she produces floral content for brands, and teaches her foam free, abundant techniques to both newcomers and established florists.
