Flying The Nest: Student Cookery
Whether your youngsters are getting ready to leave home for College or University or are just beginning to get more involved in the kitchen at home, now is the perfect time to arm them with the essential skills they need to cook healthy nutritious meals for themselves and for the rest of the family.
Aimed at those aged between 13 and 19 years, this course is designed to give students a relaxed yet informative understanding of a variety of simple and effective principles that will allow them to cook with confidence.
Focusing on accessible, affordable ingredients, our tutors will guide them through dishes such as homemade pastas, simple meat and fish dishes, vegetable accompaniments, healthy breakfasts and essential kitchen skills such as knife skills and how to make making delicious stocks and sauces. With the chance to explore our Market Garden and to see first hands where our organic vegetables, fruit and herbs are grown, this course will instil the importance of good ingredients and wholesome eating, giving students the knowledge they need to avoid a diet of freeze-dried noodles and takeaways.
Full-day course includes practical and demonstration cookery sessions, lunch, refreshments and all course material. Guests of The Cookery School also enjoy a discount of up to 25% in our Farmshop after their course.
