Perfect just as they are as a delicious snack, or as part of a picnic or a delicious breakfast. Alternatively, slice and serve with double cream or ice cream. To ring the changes and enhance the fruit's natural tangy sweetness, sprinkle with a little quality balsamic vinegar and a pinch of sugar and leave to macerate.

We source these strawberries from a grower in Evesham, local to our Cotswolds farm. They specialise in varieties with maximum flavour and pick every day when each fruit is perfectly ripe – a far cry from tasteless, watery supermarket berries that are picked when still green. Although not certified organic, this grower refrains from spraying pesticides.
