NILA INDIGO DOT CUP
This Indigo Dot Cup has been individually hand-painted by artisans in India as part of an exclusive tableware collection for Nila.
The design is inspired by Indigofera Tinctoria, the indigo species indigenous to India that has been used in Indian heritage crafts for thousands of years. The blue tones evoke the characteristics of the indigo plant. The fine ceramic stoneware is made from clay sourced in Rajasthan.
Every piece is unique and bears the mark of the maker’s hand. An elegant addition to your dining table.
Designed exclusively for Nila House in Jaipur, a cultural centre dedicated to preserving India’s natural dye and handloom textile traditions. Part of the Lady Bamford Foundation, Nila is a charitable initiative that aims to share resources and knowledge, support sustainable design and celebrate craftsmanship.
Nila means ‘blue’ in Sanskrit, inspired by the characteristic hue of natural indigo dye which is carefully grown, fermented and extracted from the indigofera tinctoria plant – kind to the soil and the artisans who use it.
