Organic Pastured Venison Haunch Joint 1kg
At Daylesford we are very proud to have the first and largest red deer herd certified organic by the Soil Association. This diced venison farmed organically on our Staffordshire estate in Wootton.
With twice as much iron as beef and lamb, organic venison is a nutrient-rich addition to a balanced diet. It is also a valuable source of the essential omega 3 fatty acids which are typically found in oily fish.
This is a fresh product, minimum shelf life of 2 days
Wash hands, knives and surfaces thoroughly before and after preparing raw meat.
Keep refrigerated 0-5 degrees. Consume within the use by date. Once pack is opened use on the same day. Suitable for freezing on day of purchase. Use within one month. Defrost fully before use. Do not de-freeze once defrosted.
For perfectly cooked venison, our head chef recommends:
Slow cooked joint (haunch): Heat oil in pan, season and seal joint for 3-4 minutes. Add beef stock to cover, plus seasonal vegetables, herbs or spices, Worcestershire sauce or red wine if you like. Bring to boil, skim off fat, cover with foil and place in an oven at 170 degrees (fan 150 degrees)/Gas mark 3, for 3 hours. Remove from liquid and rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.
