HEAD OF THE MARKET GARDEN

JEZ TAYLOR

Our talented grower Jez runs the market garden at Daylesford. He favours a seasonal approach to growing, encouraging life and resilience in our 30 acres. Having previously consulted for the Eden Project in Cornwall and developed his own cider business, Jez’s diverse horticultural background brings colour and creativity to the produce we grow through the seasons.

PLANT MANAGER & BUYER

MAXIME BOCHER

French landscape designer Maxime has worked for more than ten years in the plant industry. He manages the displays and offers expert advice at our Cotswold farmshop.

DAYLESFORD ESTATES DIRECTOR

STEPHEN DEWHIRST

Our esteemed Estates Director has worked for Lady Bamford for over 30 years. He started his career in the nursery industry and building show gardens at RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

STEVEN GAMBLE

Having trained at the National Trust and the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew; he has worked as part of a team of gardeners for our founder for 18 years.

A DAY OF GARDENING INSPIRATION

Discover how to nurture your garden with our talks, demonstrations and workshops led by Daylesford experts and leading industry guests from the world of gardening, plants and flowers.

Each course is set within our 28-acre Market Garden which encompasses our Cutting Garden on our Cotswolds Farm. Guests will also enjoy access to exclusive areas closed to the public throughout the day.

A delicious, private lunch will be served, specially prepared by our in-house chefs with a seasonal menu inspired by the theme of the day.

Aimed at the novice gardener, no prior experience is necessary. Deepen specific knowledge, build your dream garden, develop practical skills and work with nature to enjoy your garden at its best.

MATT WEEDON

Matt has earned multiple accolades including Michelin stars at two of the restaurants he headed. Matt's French-inflected style of cooking has inspired our new course Classic French Cooking which includes many of his favourite tried and tested dishes.

JAMES DEVONSHIRE

Yorkshire-born James believes that you’re never too young to appreciate good, simple food and never too old to start learning to cook it! Our ever popular Italian Kitchen and Pizza From Scratch courses were born from James' passion for Italian cuisine where he shares inspiring recipes along with his knowledge from years of experience working in some of the best restaurants in the Cotswolds!

STEVE BULMER

Steve’s cookery skills were developed at Michelin-starred restaurants in the UK, France and the USA, most significantly at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons. Steve has an abundance of culinary knowledge and has a love for all things wild, you'll often find him foraging for rare herbs and ingredients around Daylesford which he'll transform into incredible dishes and drinks across our courses and his renowned Chef's Table Suppers.

"We spent a great day learning how to create a Seasonal Dinner Party along with various tips like knife skills and cooking techniques - James and James and their team were very informative, patient and relaxed and we came away with cookery confidence (and full tummies!)! The Perfect Evening!

"Excellent evening at the Daylesford Cookery School, where James, Ione and Sophie hosted our family dinner to celebrate Dad’s 60th. Food was fabulous and great to see the chefs prepare it in front of us. Outstanding presentation and flavours, James really facilitated our enjoyment and was very engaging, explaining each dish and the paired wine, he’s a master of his trade. I’d highly recommend the chefs table experience for anyone wanting to celebrate; a very memorable and lovely time. Thanks James, Ione and Sophie."

Can't wait to come back

"I was finally able to do the Artisan Bread Course at Daylesford yesterday and it was so worth the wait!

I can’t believe how much we made, how much we ate and drank and how much we learnt. James is so knowledgeable and I learnt so many new kneading techniques and tips about bread making. Just ordered myself many kilos of their preferred flour and can’t wait to get on with some bread at home.

Honestly I would recommend their courses to anyone. It’s a highly enjoyable day and I can’t wait to book another."
