The Magic Of Mushrooms
At Daylesford we are embracing the power of mighty mushrooms. A symbol of health and wellness, mushrooms have been celebrated for millennia; to power the body, mind & soil.
From our latest homeware collection to a gorgeously green mushroom matcha, read on to discover more about the benefits and where you can find all forms of fungi in our farmshops.
FOR YOUR HEALTH
The medicinal value of functional mushrooms has been harnessed by humans for hundreds if not thousands of years, dating back to traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic practices. More recently adaptogenic mushrooms such as lion's mane, chaga and reishi have become increasingly popular. These functional mushrooms help the body manage stress and restore balance.
Take as a dietary supplement, such as our Organic 8 Mushroom Extract, a curated blend designed to improve sleep, immunity and reduce inflammation or replace your morning coffee with a mushroom latte, made with a powder blend. We like DIRTEA's Organic Super Blends, available from the takeaway counters at our Cotswold and London farmshops. They include a velvety Matcha made with ceremonial-grade Japanese matcha and a Cacao hot chocolate which contains, along with raw cacao, brain-boosting Lion's Mane, skin-enhancing Tremella, and mind-calming Reishi. And our favourite coffee blend, which has 80% less caffeine than regular coffee, providing a milder alternative to your morning coffee with added mushroom benefits.

STRONG SOIL
A healthy fungi population is essential for healthy soil. The sight of a variety of mushrooms sprouting through grass or flowerbeds indicates a successful symbiotic relationship, with mushrooms helping plants to exchange nutrients, and assisting with transferring them back to the earth.
Our farm's woodlands are rich with nature's treasure, including a variety of edible mushrooms such as field mushrooms, shaggy parasols and field blewitts. Each of these have inspired our latest homeware collection, featuring fungi found and foraged by our resident experts, including intricately painted glassware, handmade Provençal crockery, linens and home fragrance.

KITCHEN VERSATILITY
From mushrooms on toast to a batch of delicious broth, mushrooms make a welcome addition to any meal. We enjoy adding a mix to our nourishing Hot & Sour Vegetable Broth which is easy to warm in a saucepan for a quick, healthy dinner.
High in fibre, mushrooms are a great substitute for meat on days when you're looking for a delicious, rich flavour and meaty texture. Robust enough to grill, roast or stuff, the humble Portobello mushroom is a favourite in our kitchens.
Learn how to cook fungi full of flavour with The Cookery School who host regular Wild and Foraged courses where guests harvest, cook and eat wild food foraged from our farm's woodlands, guided by our team of experts.
