This means “Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita” and is the highest level of grading that a Prosecco can achieve, denoting controlled (controllata) production methods and guaranteed (garantita) wine quality. There are strict rules governing the production of DOCG wines and each DOCG wine is subject to official tasting procedures. |
