Summer Lino Printing Workshop
Join us at the farm for an immersive day learning the art of lino printing with this new hands-on workshop, guided every step of the way by an experienced artist and teacher.
| Details | Learn how to use a range of tools to master a variety of mark making techniques. After practicing your newfound skills on test pieces, you may move onto the printing block, with a choice of different presses and equipment. After enjoying a break with a delicious organic lunch prepared by the Daylesford chefs, the afternoon will be an opportunity to focus on your main block to create your very own series of original prints or greeting cards. Feel free to bring along favourite objects or photographs to work from; 6”x4” or 8”x6” sized images are ideal for tracing directly onto your block. Or simply draw and work from the array of inspiration to be found around Daylesford. All materials, equipment, expert tuition, lunch and refreshments are included in the workshop price. About your host Hailing from Cornwall, Mark Lord, aka Lino Lord, is a professional photographer whose 22-year career behind the camera led to a passion for capturing the essence of the natural world. His interest in lino art and printmaking began five years ago and he loves sharing his passion by teaching others how to draft designs, carve the lino and print the final artwork. He says: “The joy of printmaking for me is rooted in the traditional tools and time-honoured techniques that create beautiful, affordable art for every wall. Each print is entirely handmade by me – from the first sketch, to inking the lino and turning the wheel of the press.
