The Daylesford Summer Festival is going digital.

Like so many others, we were so saddened to have to cancel our annual Summer Festival back in June. Since then however, we have decided that the time has come to share some peace, love and happiness with you all virtually.

We have an exciting schedule of events lined up for our week of celebrations, including everything from cake baking competitions, to cocktail recipes. The brilliant TOM KITCHIN will be joining us for a Friday night cookalong and of course we have to include a virtual Daylesford Dog Show.

We so hope you’ll join us. Highlights and our full itinerary can be found below, but be sure to follow us on INSTAGRAM for all the live action.

Sunday 2nd August

No Daylesford Summer Festival, be it live or virtual, is complete without the dog show. We’ll be calling for your virtual entries into the below competition categories.

  • Best Dressed Dog
  • Dog Most Like Its Owner

Enter by posting your photos to Instagram using the hashtag #DaylesfordDogShow. Those entering will be in for a chance to win a variety of prizes for your pooch. Entries will open on Sunday 2nd of August, with our winners announced on Sunday 9th August.

Monday 3rd August

Always a highlight at our Summer Festival, for both children and adults alike, our virtual farm tour will be hosted on Instagram by our Senior Farms Manager, Richard Smith. Tune in to find out more about life on our organic farm and the unique way in which we tend to our land and animals at Daylesford.

Wednesday 5th August

Our Wednesday highlights will focus on wellbeing. Tune in on Instagram to join an early morning meditation with the experts from our Bamford Wellness Spa.

In the evening, from 7pm, we will also be hosting a virtual DAYLESFORD DISCUSSES evening. We have gathered an expert panel who will explore how wellbeing is affected during times of crisis and stress, and how people adapt as their lives change. The conversation will touch on topics such as nutrition, supplements and preventative measures as we reflect on the unfolding of the global pandemic in recent months.

Free to attend, the discussion will be led by our resident nutritionist, Rhaya Jordan, and will be live streamed on Zoom.

Friday 7th August

We are thrilled that Tom Kitchin, Michelin-starred chef and long time friend of Daylesford, will be tuning in to our Instagram channels for a Friday night cookalong on the barbecue. Prepare the coals and a variety of vegetables and organic meat to put together a festival feast for the family at home.

Sunday 9th August

We have always loved the traditional fun of a summer fair and our competition tent at the Summer Festival offers a joyful opportunity to celebrate the very best of the summer season.

For our virtual celebrations we will be calling for entries into our ‘Perfect Sponge Competition’. Will you be adding jam, cream or buttercream? How even is the bake on your sponge? How will you decorate? We are calling for entries from those of all age groups by asking those taking part to post a picture of their final bake to Instagram using the hashtag #DaylesfordSponge. Winners will be announced on Sunday 16th August with prizes for the best bake.

1st – 9th August

Above we have shared just a few of the highlights from the week, but do tune in for so much more. Our Daylesford Cookery School team will be showcasing some of our favourite summer recipes, while we will also be setting a challenge to see which our team of experts at the farm can make the ultimate cheese sandwich.

We so hope that you will join us and take part in our celebrations as we share a slice of peace, love and happiness.
